For every port call within Germany a unique identification number is required – the VISIT-ID. A port call contains the incoming voyage, shifting within the port and the outgoing voyage. To apply a VISIT-ID the IMO-Number of the vessel, the port of call and the planned date of arrival are needed.
Moreover a Kiel-Canal-Passage has to be registered by a TRANSIT-ID, if a vessel passes the Kiel-Canal without calling a German port before or after the transit. Therefore the IMO-Number of the vessel and the estimated date of arrival at the Kiel-Canal-entrance-lock are required.
