BSMD

 

The partner company BREMER SCHIFFSMELDEDIENST Kapt.P.Langbein e.K. (BSMD) was established in 1948. Since then, the company has acted as a local and regional information provider for the port and shipping community located in the ports along the river Weser (Bremerhaven, Nordenham, Brake, Oldenburg and Bremen). Later the service was also implemented in the ports of Emden, Leer, Papenburg, Wilhelmshaven and Cuxhaven. The main area of operation is the 24/7/365 information about ship movements to, from and in the ports as well as the publication of bulletins containing expected vessels.

 

In addition, BSMD provides a traffic simulation system on the river Weser to minimise waiting-time and port congestions.

 

The BSMD owned AIS-system covering the area from St.Petersburg to Le Havre completes the service offered by BSMD as information provider.

 

For pilots and their PPU’s, BSMD offers a highly-accurate cartography tailor-made to the requirements of the brotherhoods and other pilot organisations..
